Things I forgot...

Seems I forgot a few things back in Vancouver.
  • hairbrush
  • a long sleeved shirt (it's damn cold here)
  • pad lock
  • ear plugs (noisy drunken dorm mates... grumble grumble)
  • and... my travellers cheques.

Shit.

It has begun!

I made it! And after a brief game of musical chairs on the airplane, ended up with a better seat. Woohoo. The tube ride from Heathrow to Kings Cross is really long though. Probably gave people the wrong impression too. Have terribly bloodshot eyes. Maybe that's why they gave me so much room.

Cannot recommend the St. Pancreas... sorry St. Pancras hostel enough. Awesome place.
Only downside is that the guy at the desk sounds like Holly from the first season of Red Dwarf.

Desperately want to sleep as I didn't sleep at all on the flight. But NO! My resolve is firmer than dried out tofu. I'll hold out till at least 7pm. ;)

P.S. British keyboards are WEIRD!

Just added Google AdSense to the blog.
It's supposed to pick up on keywords in your blog and display ads corresponding to those topics.

How it got "pet odor" and "sanitization" from talking about travelling I'll never know.

Down to the wire

Whooee. Time flies when you're prone in bed recovering from tummy bugs and nose surgery. Or so the saying goes.

In any event, the weeks have flown by and I still have lots of stuff to do (ie: buy).
But at least my route is shaping up:

Stop #1 = London, England, 4 days
Stop #2 = Paris, France, 3 days
Stop #3 = Lyon, France, some other number of days
Stops #4-7 = Somewhere down the French and Italian riveras
Stop #8 = Milan, Italy, maybe if I have time
Stop #9 = Aulla, Italy, hafta be there for June 18th, 3 weeks for the art class
Stop #10 = Er, Rome maybe?
Stop #11 = Some fishing village to catch the boat to Dubrovnik, Croatia
Stop #12 = Dubrovnik, Croatia! Beaches here I come!
Stops #13 -20 = Hungary (Budapest), Czech Republic (Prague), Austria, Poland (in only a semi-particular order)
Stops #21-25 = Meandering my way back across the continent to Spain
Stops #26-28 = Morocco!
Stop #29 = London again, for drinks and hugs with Aly
Stop #30 = Vancouver, for sleep and general liver recovery

Departure Time Set

The tickets are bought, the time is set.
May 29th at 6pm I'll be jumping on a plane headed for jolly ol' London!

I was hoping to buy a one way ticket in order to save some cash. But apparently the european countries won't let you in if you can't prove you're going to leave eventually. So I had to buy a flight back home too. And so November 20th I'll be lugging my scruffy self back to Vancouver.

First thing I'm doing when I'm back? Sushi. Lots of sushi.

Done and Done

Have sucessfully vacated the dank cesspool that was my apartment. No casualties and only minor injuries to my pride when the building manager made me clean the oven... again.
However, can't be too upset since he waived the charge on not having the carpets professionally cleaned. If had not been pressed for time would never NEVER have done it myself.
So gross. Smelled like feet.

Though he did accuse me of "trashing the building". Pardon?
Aparently the small bits of white laminate and paint coming from my apartment to the elevator cheapened the exquisite decor of moldy ceilings, uncleaned purple carpets (still has "pet stains" from 2 years ago), rusting fixtures, and warped framework.

But is done. And now can get on with the other million things to do!
